For the 2021/2022 season the GCMHL is going to strictly follow the COVID protocols for arenas and ice hockey as outlined by the Province of Ontario and the City of Ottawa.

This afternoon (Sept 1, 2021) the Province of Ontario announced that effective Sept 22nd all players will need to provide documentation (paper or digital) showing they are fully vaccinated in order to enter “sports and fitness facilities and gyms, with the exception of youth recreational sports."

If you are not fully vaccinated (2 shots) and don’t plan on getting fully vaccinated please advise the league ASAP. For the 2021/22 season we will remove you as a registered returning player and issue a refund (if applicable). This will not impact your standing with the GCMHL or the possibility of returning in future years.

In order to be fully vaccinated on Sept 22nd you will need to have your 2nd shot on or before Sept 8th. No refunds will be issued to players that are unable to play because they are not vaccinated. For example, if a player is not fully vaccinated until October 18th no refund will be issued for games missed between Sept 22 and Oct 18.

The City of Ottawa will need to work out details, but we are anticipating that the City of Ottawa will have staff monitoring the entrance and they will be checking documentation for each player.

For the 2021/22 season, all GCMHL players are required to complete an online waiver which states that you agree to follow all of the COVID protocols as dictated by the Province of Ontario and the City of Ottawa. Please note that the Province and/or the City can append, alter or completely change the protocols at any time and you are agreeing to follow the protocols as they are on the night of your game.

Any player who does not follow the protocols will be asked to leave the arena. If this behaviour continues the player will be removed from the league with no refund for remaining games.

In order to be eligible for the draft, which will take place on Monday September 6h, you are required to completed the waiver by 9pm Sunday Sept. 5th.
